Cancer, a subject we all shudder to address for it has become embedded in our global consciousness and has claimed lives, has hit home. I featured this gifted young philosopher, poet and brother in one of my entries as one of the people I look up to in October last year.
Ochuka is a former Economics student at the University of Nairobi. Despite his mastery in penning metaphor, he has been battling liver cancer for the last five years. This ordeal has inevitably served as inspiration for his writing with undying hope that he will regain his health and live his life to the maximum. Unfortunately, the cancer has spread to the brain and now he is need of an emergency treatment in India in November this year to save his life.
The bill that will enable him receive treatment is Kshs. 4.37 million ($ 43, 700).
